We are planing to use a utrack24 for the playback of backing tracks, click track, and midi timecode (for lightning control). During live performance, we want to play with the audience, while we repeat a part of the song or the drummer just continues playing the kick. So it is necessary, that our drummer receives the

    Hi,

The uTrack can do that but half automatically only. ūüôā
Were you create the song in uTool you can pre-define markers which can be stored in the song.
On the uTrack you need to load the song, in pause state push the “menu/loop” button on the front panel, use the skip back skip forward and the encoder to selec

    Hi Lazlo,
thank you for your fast response. We want to start playing the first part of the song from the beginning. In the middle of the song there is a freestyle part (free solo, working with the audience etc. ) after some time the song should continue normal. During the freestyle part the click track should loop.

There’s different ways to have markers.

    1. You can insert markers to the song during recording by push the skip back skip forward key. That’s not relevant for your setup.
    2. Uses markers and loop on the fly where you have no markers in the song but you want to set up the loop. This is the thing what you described. But that’s not enough good for live performance as the markers are inaccurate because you set up on the fly.
    3. Include the markers in the song: This can be done really precisely as you need to define the markers in uTool. This is the way how you should do it for your use case.

You also need to know the loop function will loop all the song not just several tracks like the clicktrack.
In your case you need to have a marker at the beginning of the song and one in the “middle”

    Hi Laszlo,

Of course this will be fine.

This is what I don’t get and assume there is a feature missing. The first part of the song is e.g. an intro where we want additional backing tracks than chorus and after the chorus, our singer introduces the band (at this time only clicktrack, one bar in loop, all other tracks co

This is, what I supposed. We really need this feature and there was a feature request here 2 years ago. I put it uTrack suggestions & feature request. Perhaps it is possible to implement in an later release. My idea is, if there are two markers in a song, automatically loop in between these markers and leave the

Actually I like this idea, we will discuss that before next firmware release for sure.
    Thank you for your input

    This feature would be awesome.
We have a “workaround” on this subject.
The way we are doing it is by splitting the song into 2 songs and do the interlude part by feel.
So when the first part of the song stops, the next will have a “wait for key press”.
By doing it this way no clicktrack provided during this part

+1 on this feature request! Would make a big difference, this is the only way in which I see the loop feature realistically being used in a live situation. Predetermined markers anywhere in the song, and footswitch controlled to exit the loop.

Cymatic, please update on the status of this feature request. Is it something in development or not?

    Hi Brandon,

Unfortunately we have no new development on this topic.
I’m sorry for the bad news
