Unfortunately in this case I almost sure the firmware are not up to date on your device because the factory never programed the latest fimware release.
Please check when you have the device in your hand. You can see the firmware version on the display when you turn it on the device (4 or 5 digit number)
Please update the firmware on the LR-16 then try the disk, once when the device able to mount the drive please format the drive wiht the LR-16 before you start to using the device. That’s important, because we using special allocation unit size during formatting the drive.
