Utrack x32 on midas m32-mixing to stereo track

If the card works independently of the console, why can I not play back on the card from attached drive and then record the stereo track with a second drive on the console face like the Midas M32 normally does anyway? I do not understand. Will the USB drive on the console face become disabled while playing back and mixing from the UTRACK X32? If so, I really don’t think I need to keep this card. Maybe I should send it back.
