ParticipantHello,
I am a new user. I would like to know if it is possible to still record via the analog inputs of the uTrack24 with an audiolan card installed and only use the audiolan connection for remote control. The reason is we already have a Ravenna network setup and would like to remotely control the uTrack24 over that same network. I have discovered that when I tried to use the built-in ethernet port on the uTrack24 to connect to that Ravenna network, I get PTP locking errors on my other Ravenna gear and uRemote doesn’t even see the uTrack. I was really hoping that by using the audiolLan card instead, I could successfully remotely control the u-track via Uremote, and also not mess up the operation of my other Ravenna network gear. I am using the Dell 2808/2816 switches with the settings files provided by Merging for Horus/Hapi usage. Any information would be appreciated.Just to follow up on this a bit. I guess the heart of my question has to do with the uRemote software and whether it will work over a Ravenna network as well as a regular LAN. Or is there some different web based software like that for the Merging Horus/Hapi? Either way I guess it doesn’t matter, as long as there is a way to remote control the uTrack via the audioLan card, yet still allow the audio input to be analog, not from the Ravenna stream.
Thanks.

KeymasterHi,
The AudioLan card cannot be used as remote interface for uTrack24. The AudioLan card can be used as audio input/output.
You can only use the built in network connection for remote control purpose. It can be remote controllable from uRemote or you can even use the Copperlan manager for remote control the device.5th December 2016 at 15:22 #27657Hartt Recording
ParticipantThank you for the information. I understand now that the audiolan card is only for audio i/o. For us the only wired ethernet network available is already configured as a Ravenna network for Horus and Hapi operation. As I mentioned, when I connect the built in uTrack lan connection to that network, uRemote cannot see the uTrack, and we get PTP lock errors on our Ravenna devices. As soon as I unplug the uTrack the errors go away. I am assuming this has something to do with the unique network switch configuration needed for the Horus/Hapi. I guess my next question is, is this expected behavior? This might be something worth addressing if you can test it and get uRemote to work over a Horus/Hapi configured Ravenna network. The Dell 2808/16 switch configuration files can be downloaded from merging. In the meantime I am going to try to use our wireless network for remote control by using an ethernet to wireless bridge.
Thank you.

KeymasterI need to test that scenario.
I’ll get it back to you soonest as possible.
