KeymasterWe already tested with the most popular brands like WD, Seagate, Toshiba, G-drive, Phillips, Lacie, Verbatim.
All of them worked well.Important to do a formatting with the uTrack-X32 card for the best performance.
During our tests we realized, the WD drives more sensitive for the environment resonance (close to the subwoofer etc), and put the heads to parking position to protect the disk, but in this case the data transfer stops. So with HDD drives it is recommended to put some soft material under the HDD for avoid from this situation.28th September 2015 at 18:42 #26457might

ParticipantSo it’s OK to use drives powered from the USB bus?

KeymasterYes sure.
But take care with the cable length with the USB powered drives.
If you planning to use the cable which was included with the HDD, this should be OK, but if you planning to use extension cable or long USB cable please make a test recording, because some HDD really sensitive for the long cables and they switch to “low power” mode, in this case the data transfer speed much slower.6th October 2015 at 19:16 #26479Trev Wilkins
