ParticipantHi over there. Sometimes the recorder doesn_t remember my monitorsettings like the pan and the volumesetting. Does it write the settings into the recording data ? The same happens when I switch the system off. It doesn`t remeber my last setting in the playback mode.
Thanx for your attention!

ParticipantHi Stempel,
Playback songs have a monitor settings information stored within them. Every time a song is loaded for playback, the stored monitor settings for the song are also applied. The monitor settings can be changed on the fly during playback, but the settings will not be stored and are valid only until the song is finished playing. The playback monitor settings can be adjusted and saved with a PC using the Playlist Editor tool.
At boot up the device starts with default monitor settings. One can change the monitor settings and choose Save Settings in the Menu. After a restart you would have to choose “Load Settings” from the menu. The recording data also stores the monitor settings. So when you playback a recording, the same monitor settings are set that were used to record it.
When Pre-Recording is ON, the monitor settings are that of the Recorder.
When Pre-Recording is OFF, the device automatically pre-loads the current song and the monitor settings are of the Song.I hope this clears up some confusion.

ParticipantHello,
I have the same problem and i’m not sure i understood your answer…
How can i remember the settings i want to put once for all ?
for instance, i want the channel 1 to have 98 Volume and to be 100% Left and i want the channel 2 to have 98 volume and be 100% on the right, i want to use the save setting function, and shut down the utrack 24 and that at the next start it reloads automatically the parameters i put in it.
How can we do this ?After i read you answer i saw it’s possible to save a setting, shut down the utrack and reload it after, but how can this be done automatically ?
Regards,
Jack

ParticipantHi Jack,
Unfortunately the automatic loading of the monitor settings is not supported yet . We will probably include that in the next firmware upgrade.

ParticipantHi digichetan,
Well, thanks for your quick answer (at least we now know what’s going on), and yes please put something like that in a next firmware update, because for all user i guess that it can be useful to have the same settings at each power up of the utrack24.
i’d say it’s merely a modifying of the default monitor settings we need, than an automatic load of settings, even if both are gaving us the same result in purpose.
As i noticed that when i’m making a setting, loading it and then going from interface/monitor mode to record mode, then the default settings are again (and without power down/up the utrack24) at the default values.
That’s why we should be able to do a “user” permanent modifying of the default values of the monitor settings…… if possible….
it’s the first time i saw something like this in that kind of product….. big drawback…. people should know before buying it…..

Jack

ParticipantHi Jack,
I totally agree with the fact that the uTrack should just load a user-defined monitor setting at start up.
However, I had some questions about this point you made
As i noticed that when i’m making a setting, loading it and then going from interface/monitor mode to record mode, then the default settings are again (and without power down/up the utrack24) at the default values.
Jack
With Interface mode, do you mean the uTrack was connected to the PC with USB?
If yes, then, when the uTrack goes from the Interface mode to Standalone mode the device is rebooted.
If not, and you only meant from Monitor mode to Recording mode, I cannot reproduce the problem.
Loading the settings always loads what was Saved before. So once the settings are done, “Save Settings” need to be clicked to save them in the uTrack. After a restart, the saved settings can be loaded back with “Load Settings“.If you still can reproduce the problem, could you let me know the steps again? Maybe I am missing something here.
If this is not the case and I misunderstood something, could you send me the steps to get to the problem?

ParticipantHi digichetan,
you said “If yes, then, when the uTrack goes from the Interface mode to Standalone mode the device is rebooted.”
You’re right ! this is also something new for me (a hardware rebooting when changing his mode of work !)
I didn’t pay attention the first time because the utrack is at a low position in my rack, and after your post, i tried again and watched with attention my utrack24, and yes it’s when it’s rebooting….and as now we know, when it reboots, it’s loosing the monitor settings….
OK, there’s only one drawback !

ParticipantHi,
OK, i tried the new firmware (2469) and about the released notes i saw the following line “Fixed an issue with loading mixer settings at startup”
I’m not sure it’s about the same issue here…
What i noticed now :
– powering on the utrack24 without an usb drive (as an simple PC interface or simple monitor multitrack for all the hardware synth connected on it) the input levels are still at 40%, centred panoramics.
to be used, i have to load a previously saved settings with the volume at 90% and Pan left and right set– I noticed also that when i put a usb drive to record, (at power on or after power on if i didn’t load the settings) the volume settings an pan settings are good ! (in fact, when a usb drive is connected i can only check the output settings, by pushing the left button, but i hear that the input volume and pan are correct, and i see that the output parameters are the same as the input ( in the saved settings), same PAN, same volume for each channel.
in that case i guess the firmware has himself automatically loaded the previously saved settings…May be there was a correction in this firmware for this case, now that i saw this i’ll put an usb drive when i only want to play, that’s fine, but it would be nice to have the same automatic loaded settings when the utrack is used as an interface, or simple multitrack monitor without an usb drive attached.
so this issue would be definitively closed.Regards,

ParticipantHi,
I just tried the new (2746) firmware to see if the automatic settings load were implemented, and…. it is still not !!
Am i the only one this feature is missing ?
Try the following :
no PC/MAC connected, no Hard drive device connected (as a standalone 24 audio tracks summing to the monitors)
boot the utrack 24.
press the encoder wheel, it show you the first audio port with channel 1 and the volume is 40 % and centered PAN
with the encoder wheel press again and turn it to put the volume to 99, press again to set the PAN to left (channel 2 should be set to right then) (this is an example, of course you will have to set the 24 channels if you use 24 audio devices plugged)
press the menu button, scroll down to save your settings and do it
then, poweroff the utrack.
power it on, and press the encoder wheel to see the channel 1 volume, it is again at 40 !!
the only way you could have your settings back is to go to the menu and load you settings !and that’s what is upsetting me ! Each time i power on the utrack24 for a standalone mode (to have my synths played live for instance) i have to go firstly to the menu and load the settings parametred and saved before (ok i have to do this once, fortunately)
the same occur when in interface mode (with a computer)
only when you put a harddrive in the utrack, then when you boot it, the settings saved before are automatically loaded. And you can have the twice effect ! if i booted in standalone mode, load my settings, play a little bit live, then i’d like to use my computer to record my live session, i boot my computer, the utrack detect it, and the utrack reboot in interface mode, then channel 1 = 40% volume again ! and i should reload my utrack settings !
Please Cymatic, could you implement in the next firmware the automatic load settings for interface mode and standalone mode ?
Regards,
Jackpot

ParticipantHi, just wanted to ad my frustration to the thread.
I find it very annoying that i can only mix on the fly, without having anyway to save the settings along playing.Scenario. I record my band playing, and there is no way i can set the monitor during recording…my hands are tied to other things 😉
After recording, we want to listen to the tracks, but everytime i restarts the tracks, the monitor mixer resets….argghhhh!!!
As stated in another post, this should be a user preset, rather than a default reset.
If someone have a workaround to this, that does not include a pc or mac, please let me know.
Otherwise, i hope this will be given high priority during the next firmware update.

KeymasterHi Olietyven,
Thanks for your input.
We already planning to implement this feature in coming firmware releases.
I cannot promise we release this feature with the next update, but this implementation definitely on our timeline.7th December 2015 at 19:22 #26632jackpot67
ParticipantHi,
I noticed that the 3017 firmware implemented the default settings loading feature.
When i power on the utrack24 in standalone mode (no computer linked and running) the previously saved settings are loaded automatically. That’s a really good thing ! Thank you very much Cymatic audio !!
Although i noticed also that in interface mode, it’s not working. (computer running and usb attached, power on of the utrack 24, the default and not saved settings is loaded, with 40% input volume).
It would be really nice if this feature could also apply to the interface mode.

KeymasterHi jackpot67,
The current firmware version 3020 for uTrack24.
The uTrack24 should hava a same mixer settings in interface mode as well.
What about if you try to load back the saved mixer parameters when the device are in interface mode?2nd May 2016 at 21:25 #27049Lars
ParticipantWhen will it be possible to save the mixer settings during playback of multitracks ? Evertime the song stops, the levels and pans are reloaded to default, and not to the levels i want. This way i have to play the song and set the levels, then stop the song and then trying to remember my settings and then saving. This is not optimal !

KeymasterHi Olietyven,
We’ll make this feature available in the next firmware version.
Thank you for your input.26th May 2016 at 21:26 #27094Larry
ParticipantHi,
I have the same problem with my volume in the mixer defaulting back to the original settings evertime I stop the music. We have over 50 songs that we try to get balenced out while the tracks are playing live and as soon as I get the levels just right the settings are all gone when I stop the mixer’s tracks. Please………when is the next firmware update? It’s been over 5 months now.
Thanks 🙂
