Hi, we used LP16 last gig and sound engeneer connected LP16 throught D.I. box and it´s not good idea. There was a very strong hum from PA. The sound engineer didn’t know what to do with it. LP16 was afraid to engage without D.I. boxing. The band before us also had LP16 and they had the same problem. They had the advantage of still having their D.I. a box that the hum did not do. We are finally D.I. the box was not used and the LP16 was plugged directly into the PA. I would like to ask whether it is necessary to use LP16 D.I. box and if so, if it is only able to work with any particular type? Thanks

    Hi Štěpán,

As the LP-16 has unbalanced outputs you might need to use a DI box if you are connecting to the receiver which is more than 5 meters away from your source.
If you had a very strong hum that was most likely because of some groundloop in the system (not in the LP-16). Most of the DI boxes has a ground lift option which might be helpful to eliminate the noise.
