ParticipantHi all,
are there any plans to implement a FFWD and REW function into the LP-16? Or are they already existing and I didnยดt find them? ๐
This would be really helpfull for rehearsals or soundchecks where not the whole song is needed. Thanks for your answers

ParticipantHi Sven,
thank you for the answer.
Thatยดs really sad. Canยดt understand why this feature is not standard on a Player. I know many bands and artists that work with HD-Players and I think more would try out the LP-16 if this feature would be implemented.
I really hope that this will happen in the near future. Thanks and best wishes

ParticipantI agree with G-Spot666! There should be an option to do a quick fast-forward/rewind for rehearsals and for virtual mixing on stage. It would make it much more convenient ๐

ParticipantI also agree. I have just bought the LP16 . This is not good! it’s must have during soundchecks or reaharsals !

ParticipantI must also agree. One big thing for us is to use this when we are in the rehearsal room. But now we can only play the whole song. So that makes it impossible to rehearse a certain part of the song. How hard can it be for you to make this happen…

ParticipantGlad to read that I am not the only one with this problem.
Hope they read it and react somehow. We have four 9 minute songs in the set. It really sucks when we want to rehearse the last chorus and the ending. ๐It would also be awesome to have something like a Loop Function or at least markable songparts. Would be great to have this freatures also included. But first of all the FFWD and REW function is really needed and helpful!!.

ParticipantMy first idea on how to use this player was to make wave files of all the parts of a song. So I would do the:
Keyboard, bas and drums Intro
Keyboard, bas and drums Verse
Keyboard, bas and drums ChorusYou get the idea. I wanted to put all these parts after each other and then play the song right true. But because it doesn’t go to the next song in the playlist without delay I can’t do this. If it would just go without delay to the next song segment then I can start the song from where ever and play it from there. So please solve this for me….

ParticipantYes Please!!!
This function would really be useful!!! You could make a fail-safe key-press combo like: play+FF = FF and play+RW= RWI’m doing a lot of testing and it’s extremely time consuming to have to listen through the entire song to have to check the end…

ParticipantWell I gave up on this product and sold it. To bad it sounded so good on what it could do on paper…

I really wish you guys could add that feature in the next update!! ๐9th June 2015 at 23:50 #26124Frank
ParticipantHi. I am also wondering that these functions are not implemented. We have some songs that are roundabout 15(!) minutes. For practicing I have to split them in different parts, that cannot be the solution for the future. So please add these functions, they are very important!!!

ParticipantHi,
At the start of the LP16 implementation, we did not realize that there will be so much demand for the fast forward and rewind operation. Since there is so much interest for this we have moved it up in our priority list for the next LP16 update.
Thanks for the feedback.

ParticipantHaaaleeluja! ๐
Thanks a lot for this great news11th June 2015 at 16:49 #26139FOH
ParticipantOh yeah!! ! ๐ ๐
Just wanted to say that it is really great to see you guys reacting to the user forum.
Just last week the update for uTrack for the remote issue, now this confirmation.
Good to see that there are still companies that actually seem to listen to customer feedback.
Thank you guys! But on a totally different note (and running the risk to pollute this thread): are you guys also considering implementing a feature tht allows choosing songs via MIDI controller or patch-changes for LP?
11th June 2015 at 18:19 #26142Christer Hermodsson
ParticipantCymatic: Just to boost your decision in this. Theres a real interest for a product like this in the “alternative electronic” music world.
Every time we play live, and people see our LP16 they get really curious about it ….and a bit put off by the lack of FFWD function ( and the lack of Midiclock to sometimes)
Because every single one of these bands uses: backingtracks. They are using laptops and Ipads and everyone fears the great ominous “dropout” during the live show.
Send a salesman to Leipzig, Germany at the WGT festival , look at the line up (never mind the weird clothing and haircuts … ).
That should be one unit sold for each and every artist ๐11th June 2015 at 20:48 #26144Gerit Lamm
ParticipantWhen I am allowed to make one more little suggestion, it would be a function to go 5 or 10 seconds back/forth with a doublepress of the FFWD or REW button. This would be amazing for rehearsing tracks and repeating parts in a fast and comfortable way.
12th June 2015 at 00:31 #26147Larry
ParticipantYes….thanks! And I do want to add that you guys in Cymatic are doing a great job on keep up with the forum and working hard on the great upgrades with the Utool and URemote features! I was skeptical at 1st before investing into this since there weren’t many reviews to go by. But I feel I made a good choice. Keep up the good work! ๐

ParticipantThis would be awesome solution! Just bought this unit to replace mp3 player. But… no FF/RW function. Hope to get this function soon.

ParticipantWhat is the horizon for the feature/update?
16th October 2015 at 19:15 #26518Chetan
ParticipantHi all,
Sorry for the long wait you had to endure for the LP-16 update. We at Cymatic were quite busy with a lot of exciting products that came to the market in the last couple of months and others that shall be following in the coming months. But we did not forget the LP-16 and especially the feature that you all had requested.
Do download the latest firmware available for LP-16 at https://cymaticaudio.com/downloads
The FFWD and REW feature has been implemented as “playback from an offset” feature. You can now choose a playback offset for any song by using the FWD and REW buttons. Hitting the PLAY button starts playing back from that offset. As long as the song does not change, the offset is kept in the memory so that you can quickly start playback from the same offset again. Thanks for your patience.

ParticipantUpdate done. Works perfectly.
Thank you!!
19th October 2015 at 01:03 #26525FOH
ParticipantIndeed, update seems to work like a charm so far.
Thanks Cymatics!20th October 2015 at 16:18 #26534Dennis Pedersen
ParticipantI just updated.
The FFWD and REW function works fine, but now I can’t skip to the next song!!!
This is both in single and playlist mode (multitrack)
What could be wrong??Dennis Pedersen
20th October 2015 at 16:27 #26535Chetan
ParticipantHi Dennis,
The skipping of songs is implemented with the up and down buttons now.
26th February 2016 at 14:13 #26837Paolo Torquati
ParticipantHi again!
Cool that you’ve implemented the function but, is there a reason why it counts down instead of just counting the songs actual time? If I want tojust forward to a specific time, ex. 2.55, in a song it seems impossible because it counts down from the actual position. Is it just me?Regards
26th February 2016 at 14:45 #26838Chetan
ParticipantHi Romanista,
LP-16 (right from its inception) always showed the remaining playback time of the song.
The time field for ffwd/rew shows you the time at which playback will start. For example in a song which is 10 mins long you can ffwd/rew to 2:55 and select the song to start playback at 2:55. However the remaining time countdown will start from 7:05.
Does that answer your question?
26th February 2016 at 14:57 #26839Paolo Torquati
Participantoookay, that makes sense ๐
It would be cool to be able to switch between seeing time left or actual time running ๐ Just a thought!Thanx and have a great day ๐
