ParticipantHello,
I just purchased a G-tech 1TB 72000 rpm HDD-drive, formatted (as instructed in the uTrack manual ) for MS-DOS FAT32, and yet, it does not mount in the uTrack. I get an error reading the drive and when I attempt to format, I get a “format drive failed” error as well.
This USB drive is bus powered in case that makes a difference.Any ideas on how I can get the drive to be recognized by the utrack24?
In the absence of that possibility, can you then please recommend a specific drive/or drives that will definitely work with the Utrack? I’d like to avoid throwing money down a hole trying to find the right match for the uTrack.

GuestHello vari-mu,
We will check why this drive isn’t mounting. Can you please let us know which modell you have? Please check for the modell number, this should be in the format 0G0xxxx (where xxxx is a 4-digit number)Cymatic Audio Support

GuestHi vari-mu,
We have had very good results with standard 1 or 2TB external drives (e.g. WD elements or Toshiba drives). We will test with your G-tech drive but it might take a few days since we had to order it from the US (doesn’t seem to be available in Europe).

ParticipantWho is the manufacturer? Did you format it as a Fat32 drive? Format via the uTrack?

ParticipantThanks for reply. The manufacture is G Technology, G Tech e RAW, with this number on it 0G04105.

I did try to format on u24 and it would not complete either. My PC wouldn’t recognize the drive either, so thinking it may be faulty. I did connect a very old 16GB USB stick and it worked.
Do you have any other usb hard drive recommendations as an alternative. I going to work with sweetwater to swap, but going to buy another one local to do some recording with. Thanks.

ParticipantHi
I use a Seagate Backup Plus 1TB drive that costs $70-80 with flawless results…Glyph and G-tech drives use drivers and can confuse the uTrack as we recommend driverless compliant usb drives. Hope this helps.

ParticipantThanks again Tom, I will give this a try. Sweetwater is a bit irritating, they indicated the G Tech Drive drive would work as well.
