ParticipantHello all,
Have Midas M32R console connected to Midas DL32 Stage box via Cat5e.
Installed uTrack-X32 card but got no audio going to hard drive recording when testing a mic running through the system?
Switched the input from AES in at console which was feeding the channel from the DL32 stage box to a local xlr on the back of the console, plugged in a mic and tested again. This time it recorded the audio coming in. There has to be a way this unit can record when you are running it in a console with a digital snake otherwise it would be useless as most people with the M32, X32 consoles use the digital snakes too. Any suggestion’s here?12th April 2016 at 15:07 #26992Laszlo
KeymasterHi performancedfw,
When you connect the digital snake to your console, the console itself receive the signal properly?
In the Routing/card out settings did you selected the proper “A” or “B” AES routing?12th April 2016 at 18:33 #26994Jeff Michnal
ParticipantYes the outputs are correctly going to the aes50a back to the DL32 which I run monitor sends to on stage. I’m going to check the sync and see if it is getting sync from the Dl32 or console. I may need to have sync at the console not stage box? Actually I think when I tried setting the card outs to some local channels for playback it showed nothing?

KeymasterHi performancedfw,
The related clock slection depending on your current configuration. Please take a look for the user manual 4. point (pg 9)

ParticipantI’m having the same problem. I formatted my external hard drive via the format option of uRemote. i record gigs by pushing the record button on the back of the card. I see the different takes of the recording. However, later when I try and playback the recording it does not play back. After importing the wav files via uTool into a folder and then importing the wav files into pro tools, I find that there is no audio. So, I must be recording silence. I don’t understand why I’m recording silence since my midas m32 board is connected properly to my DL16 snakes and I’m getting great signal and great sound during the gigs. In multitrack the files show the correct length of each recording but there is no audio.

KeymasterHi timmull,
Can you tell me please about your routing setup for card output, and about the clock sync settings on the console?

ParticipantHey Tim, I found that I did not have the card outs set to the AES channels that were feeding the console from the DL32 stage box. I also noticed that I needed to let the drive have a little time for the audio tracks to show up on the computer when connecting the drive to it. Since then it has been rockin. Jeff

ParticipantHi,
I don’t know how to take and send a screenshot from my midas M32 board. Any instructions would be appreciated. I am able to write the settings from each screen and send them.
I appreciate all of the help that you are able to provide as I work towards the solution of recording and playing back using the CYMATIC X32 card. Yesterday I hooked up directly to local inputs 1&2 and tried to record music directly from my iPad via a pcDI box and was unsuccessful. For the playback portion I tried card out.
I imported the song via uTool into Pro Tools 12 but there was no audio on either channel.
Thank you.1st May 2016 at 11:45 #27038Laszlo
KeymasterThe settings in the console little confusing because the card out means what goes out to the card inputs.
For playback you need to route the card (eg) to the local input, but this settings are different, that is not in the card out menu. The card out related for recording.
Please take a look for the FAQ “I/O Routing and Settings”

ParticipantDid this problem ever get solved? I am having the same problem. Am using M32 and DL32. The card records, but the unpacked wavs are (all 32 of ’em) completely silent.

KeymasterHi duijfje,
That must be a routing problem.
What is your setup? I mean where are you trying to record? Analog local inputs?
What is your routing setup?

ParticipantJust to state the answer clearly…
Selections on: Routing > Home
must match
selections on: Routing > Card outIf so, what you see on the board is what you get, otherwise, you will be missing tracks. That is how the X32 is designed, and this is the same if you are recording with the uTrack, a Dante/MADI card or a DAW.
