KeymasterHi,
Please turn off the LR-16 but leave connected to the pc, start the firmware updater on your PC and turn on the device, once connected start the firmware update again.

ParticipantThat did not work. I can hear the PC make a sound like the usb is connecting, but the software never detects it. The LR-16 just says Updating Firmware.

KeymasterDo you have the LR-16 driver installed on your pc?
What the driver says? Connected?8th November 2017 at 18:10 #29083Brian Conley
ParticipantYes, I installed the driver first. It detected the device and it showed up in my Device Manager. Everything seemed to be working great. I decided to update the firmware after all this was done. I ran the firmware update program, it detected the device and I pressed the Update button. The PC ran the software and then said it was complete and for me to reboot the LR-16. I rebooted the LR-16 and when it rebooted it said “Updating Firmware” and that is how it’s been ever since. I have tried rebooting it several times since. Apparently the software did not complete the firmware update as it had stated.
Now, when I turn on the LR-16, the PC will make a *ding* sound letting me know it detected something plugged into the USB, but the software does not detect the LR-16 being connected anymore.8th November 2017 at 18:42 #29084Laszlo
KeymasterPlease try the following:
Leave the LR-16 turned on, disconnect, and start the firmware updater, connect the USB connector and try to update.8th November 2017 at 18:47 #29085Brian Conley
ParticipantThat did not work either. The LR-16 still says the same thing.

KeymasterSorry but it seems the device need to be replaced.
If your device under warranty please contact with the place where you bought the device8th November 2017 at 19:49 #29087Brian Conley
ParticipantI purchased this used on eBay. It was working just fine until I followed your instructions on updating the firmware and now it’s broken. So you are saying I now have to pay for a new one because your software update (that was followed per instructions) destroyed my working machine?

KeymasterHow about if your device had a damaged internal component (like a flash memory with bad sector) which broke during the update? Do you know old is your device?
To be honest this is a very rare issue I don’t know any other user who experienced any similar issue with the device.
The only thing what I can suggest you to try update again to update. Download the firmware updater again from our website, try with another USB cable and connect to different USB port on your computer.
Sorry for the inconveniences.10th November 2017 at 09:41 #29096Brian Conley
ParticipantNone of these suggestions worked.
Do you have a way for me to ship this unit to you for repair?10th November 2017 at 10:56 #29097Laszlo
