ParticipantHi,
Our band uses some different computers when creating and editing songs and playlists, but we always make sure to format our USB drives with the LP16-device, just to be sure it is correct.
However, lately we have discovered that uTool on our MacOS machine can no longer see the projects on any of the USB sticks regardless of uTool version used. Works fine on our Windows 10-machines with uTool 1.x and 2.x.
We can see and interact with the folders and files in Finder, so clearly, the OS is reading the USB flash drive properly. But if we fire up uTool in MacOS the flash drive is shown as empty.
Is there any compability issues between projects created in uTool for Windows and uTool for Mac that we should be aware of?

KeymasterHi Tony,
We don’t know any compatibility issue with uTool OSX version.
I’m not really sure about your workflow could you please tell me more about the issue what you have and I’ll try to reproduce this issue.
Are the source files on the USB drive not visible on using OSX version of uTool, or you have exported your songs to the drive and on the “export” tab in uTool you cannot see the songs which already on the drive?27th March 2019 at 20:22 #46501Tony Lindén
ParticipantI´m not really what you mean with “source files on the usb drive”.
We dont keep our AudioLib or uToolProject files on the USB drive, they are on the HDD.Yes, there are songs and playlists on the flash drive, clearly visible if we plug the flash drive in a Windows PC and browse the drive in uTool.
If we plug it in a Mac and start uTool, the same flash drive appears to be empty.TL;DR
It would seem like the MacOS version of uTool can not recognice the playlists and songs that were exported from a Windows PC version of uTool. So if you want to reproduce the issue, export some songs and playlists from the uTool 1.x version on a PC and then move the flash drive to a Mac computer.

KeymasterSo if you want to reproduce the issue, export some songs and playlists from the uTool 1.x version on a PC and then move the flash drive to a Mac computer.
Could you please to make sure you are using the v2.0.062 version on your MAC and PC as well?
The v1.x not supported anymore28th March 2019 at 12:34 #46523Tony Lindén
ParticipantWe are using the v2.0.062 on both Mac and PC.
But the projects were originally created on 1.x.You state in your documentation that uTool 2.x can read and convert projects created on 1.x. So this is not quite true?

KeymasterIf you have the v1 installed and you start the v2 first time on the same computer the uTool2 it will ask you to convert all of your projects to the new format. You have to do it only once, and after that keep using the v2 only.

ParticipantSo basically, uTool 2.x on Mac does not support reading songs and playlists exported to USB from uTool 1.x, is this correct?

KeymasterHi Tony,
The “import” function is for the users who has Recorder device and want to get the recordings to the computer.
To copy uTool projects between computers, please first upgrade your uTool 1.x to uTool2 and then follow the instructions in the user manual “3.1.2. Moving projects between computers”
