ParticipantI AM USING THE UTRACK 24 FOR PLAYBACK IN A LIVE ENVIRONMENT. I AM USING A “FLASH” THUMB DRIVE THAT IS NOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE I’M EXPERIENCING. I HAVE CREATED A SONG WITH 4 MONO TRACKS. ALL 4 TRACKS HAVE A TIME OF 4:45 EXACTLY. THEY ARE 44K 24 BIT WAV FILES.
I ALSO HAVE ATTACHED A MIDI FILE THAT ACCORDING TO UTOOL HAS A LENGTH OF 4:45. THE SONG IS STOPPING AT 8 SECONDS IN. I HAVE ALREADY SUCCESSFULLY ADDED ABOUT 4 SONGS PRIOR TO THIS ONE “ACTING” UP. THE OTHER 4 SONGS WORK FINE AND SO DOES THEIR MIDI FILE. I CAN’T SEEM TO SEE WHERE I MAY HAVE MADE A MISTAKE SINCE EVEN THE UTOOL IS TELLING ME THE DURATION OF ALL THE FILES AND ALSO MY MIDI FILE ARE 4:45.THANK U FOR YOUR TIME
I ATTACHED A COUPLE UTOOL SCREEN SHOTS FOR A VISUAL

ParticipantQuick update as I’m trying to diagnose the issue….
I removed the Midi File and all 4 Tracks successfully play the full duration of the song.
Why would UTool say the Midi File is 4:45 when in reality it stopped the tracks at about 8 seconds?
I use Logic X as my DAW and Export of Midi Files…. any input would be great!

ParticipantI don’t use the midi feature – but have you tried to put a midi event right at the end of your midi file? Logic may be seeing that there is no more information after ‘x’ amount of time and truncating the file?
If that’s not the case maybe take a closer look at the midi file in logic and make sure there isn’t an event that causes the problem around 8 seconds in…(anything that differs from you other midi files that are working correctly…24th July 2015 at 15:17 #26274Michael O’Hara
ParticipantI know It’s going to be the midi file…. My midi file contains 2 program changes.
One at the begging of the song and one at the end. I opened just the midi
file into Logic X and it looks ok. Program change on the first measure and
the other one around measure 88… so it should be longer than 8 seconds. Why would UTool say the Midi File’s duration is 4:45 then?
I opened this midi file up next to one that ended correctly….
I see absolutely no difference in the file.I’m hoping it’s a glitch….

ParticipantSO AFTER HOURS OF TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS…
I THINK I FIGURED OUT AT LEAST THE PLAYBACK EARLY CUT OFF ISSUE.
I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MIDI FILES
THAT WORKED AND THIS ONE THAT CUT THINGS SHORT…IF YOU USE A MIDI FILE THAT WAS CREATED IN A SONG WITH TEMPO CHANGES
IT WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY UTOOL WILL GIVE YOU THE LENGTH OF THE MIDI FILE
BUT IT WILL STILL STOP SHORT.HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE A FIX ALONG WITH BEING ABLE TO HAVE TRACKS PLACED
ANYWHERE EVEN WITH EMPTY TRACKS IN BETWEEN THEM AND STILL
RUN WITHOUT ANY ERRORS.31st July 2015 at 02:43 #26311Larry
ParticipantI thought that I would add that I did notice that in the Multi Track Play list only (it works fine in the regular “Single” mode) when I was playing a multi track song that it stopped before the song ended. I thought the same thing that I didn’t have a MIDI note program on the end of the track. But that wasn’t the case…. I have about 4 different channels running with multiple MIDI note programs working simultaneously. So I viewed it carefully (I use Reaper) finding the exact spot that it stopped at and I noticed that two of my channels had a MIDI note that was exactly on top of each other (I couldn’t believe that this would be the cause) but I moved one slightly by one beat away and then exported it back through uTools to the external HD and it played perfectly. So, just in case you guys wanted to check on that since some of us might have multi channels and MIDI notes setting off programs at the same time……Thanks 🙂

We discovered there’s some problem with the midi playback if the midi file contains too many tempo changes.
We are working on to fix this problem ASAP.
Can I ask you to send us couple of files where you experienced problems?
It would be nice to test with those files as well before we release the update.
Please send the files to support@cymaticaudio.com
Thank you.27th November 2015 at 18:28 #26594Laszlo
