ParticipantI’ve been always using LP-16 on stand next to drummer, but got couple shows with new drummer and wanted to keep LP-16 on my bass rig and control it myself..
I’m however not sure if it would be OK sitting on bass cab due to vibration and speaker magnets…. LP16 uses USB flash drive so hopefully it would not be an issue.. but I’m bit hesitant..
Has anyone used LP-16 sitting on top of theirs amp?Laszlo do you think it would be OK?
Many thanks!4th July 2018 at 10:20 #38377Laszlo
KeymasterHi Jaca,
As the LP-16 designed to live performance it shouldn’t be a problem. I am not worrying about the magnetic field. Of course the flash drive has no problem with the resonances but any PCB, mechanical connections etc are not necessarily happy with it in long term. So I suggest you to put some soft material (foam etc) below the device to isolate slightly from the direct connection with the speaker enclosure.

ParticipantHi Laszlo,
Thank you for reply,
I will put foam pad under LP-16 to isolate it from cabinet vibrations as advised.
Fingers crossed it will be just fine 😀Many thanks!

KeymasterYou are welcome.
Actually I know a customer who has a drum fill speakers next to the drummer and he uses the LP-16 on the top of the drum fill (+ foam), more then 2 years ago with no problem. 😉 - AuthorPosts
