ParticipantHi,
I am running 2 x uTrack 24 with 8 channels of playback on each (ch 9-16). Going in to a Radial SW8 auto-switcher.
At the moment, both uTrack 24 are being triggered by a foot switch next to the drummer, and a drone signal sent from Main Out 1 on the A rig.Now looking to bring in uRemote on an iPad primarily so the drummer has a visual of what track is playing/next.
1. Is there anyway of using uRemote on an iPad without having to use wifi?
2. Can anyone recommend a decent/reliable router for good value?
3. Is it possible to control (start&stop) both uTrack 24 simultaneously from the same uRemote application. Thanks

KeymasterHi,
1. There are several solutions to have wired connection for the iPad, but as this solution involve too many 3rd party gear and tools I cannot guarantee this works 100% sure. (better to ask the that question apple forums)
2. Well known routers like Netgear WNR series or Linksys WRT series and other good quality routers should work with no problems.
3. If you have the firmware updated to the current version you’ll able to use the sync feature (in your case for redundancy) then you can connect the uRemote to the master device and the slave device will follow the master.
You can find more info here: https://cymaticaudio.com/images/downloads/manuals_and_brochures/uTrack24_SyncManual.pdf2nd February 2018 at 17:16 #29413Max Truphet
ParticipantThanks.

ParticipantLaszlo,
If you have 2 uTrack24’s for redundancy running in sync mode… if the master unit stops working, you have no way of controlling the back up unit.
If you have a tech who is able to get the failed until up and running again before the end of the song then you would be able to carry on as normal.
However, if the master unit stops working for a long time and you need to remotely start the back up unit. You have no way to do this, unless your uTrack’s are next to you on stage.
This applies when using a footswitch into the master unit and also with uRemote.
I run a footswitch that is split into both of my uTrack24’s 🙂
You should also be able to control both uTrack24’s (not in sync mode) using an iPad into an ethernet switch. As long as the uTrack24’s have the same IP address.
Cheers,
Perry

In sync group the master device has the control, the slave should follow, the only button which enabled on the slave device is that the stop button. Once the sync group broken (ie: master device loose power, network connection broken etc) the slave device taking over and all of the control buttons gets enabled automatically so it will be has the same controls enabled like on the master.[quote=”perrydegennaro” post=3738]

If you are able to do that the sync group will formed automatically and everything goes back to the same state like before the sync group was broken.[quote=”perrydegennaro” post=3738]

You can do that with uRemote. As I said before once the sync group is broken the slave device became like a stand alone device and you able to use any control on the device or you can use the uRemote as well.[quote=”perrydegennaro” post=3738]

Yes if you want you can use split footswitch cable[quote=”perrydegennaro” post=3738]

You cannot have the same IP address for both two device. The only thing what you need to do use the device selection menu in the uRemote to switch to control the slave device. You can use switch as well router. - AuthorPosts
