ParticipantI cannot seem to find this info anywhere.
At what point does the card record the signal from the X32 mixer?
Is it Pre-EQ or …?
I would like to know since there is no way to monitor IF you are recording a signal or if the recorded signal is affected by fader/eq andor processing changes.7th December 2016 at 18:11 #27663Laszlo
KeymasterHi SonicAnvil,
The uTrack-X32 records Post Gain, Pre-Fade, Pre-EQ signal.

KeymasterMetering indication may not, but the signal present it may be possible in future firmware release.

I look forward to it!6th January 2017 at 09:21 #27784Mark E. Bell
ParticipantAfter utilizing this card for several recordings I have decided to go another route.
The inability to tell if I was recording a signal or not became a point of contention with my last client.
With no visual ability to confirm signal was being recorded until play back I could not in all honesty say that a signal was being recorded.
Great idea. Just incomplete for my usage.
I will have to sell the card and use an alternative.6th January 2017 at 11:08 #27786Laszlo
KeymasterOnce you gets familiar with the console routing menu not that difficult to set up proper routing.
Especially for recording you need to take care only with the “Routing”/”Card output” and select the source where you want to record. Eg if you want to record from the local analog I/O you need to select Local 1-8; Local 9-16 etc6th January 2017 at 19:33 #27796Mark E. Bell
ParticipantIt is not a routing issue.
Again the point of contention is the inability to confirm visually on/with the card that a signal is passing to the card and being recorded.
The mixer/rack can be properly routed and show that it is sending signal.
There is NO verification that the card is receiving signal.18th January 2017 at 07:14 #27844Gabriel A Pass
ParticipantI agree completely that it would be valuable to have a signal confirmation in the uTrack app. If you are doing some complicated routing, it’s possible to forget to change the card output. This is a really good feature request, and would put the uTrack more in-line with what we expect to see from the likes of JoeCo, Sound Devices, etc.
However, aside from simply forgetting to do it, If you have a thorough understanding of routing in the S32 or M32, it is quite simple to be confidant beyond any doubt that you do have a signal. Output to the uTrack will be the same as to a DAW, direct from the pre-amp or source, so it will be completely unaffected by anything you do while mixing a show, other than gain adjustment.
The easiest way to assure beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are recording what you think you are recording, is to make sure that your outputs on the Routing > Card Out match your inputs under the Routing > Home tab. If these are the same, what you see is what you get. If you change routing frequently, you can set a scene to apply these settings.
If you follow these steps, there should be no question as to weather of not you are recording the same audio tracks that you see displayed on the audio meters on your board. This is why having audio meters on the tTrack app is irrelevant. Nonetheless signal indicators per-track, or at least per-8 channel bank would be a valuable feature. I think it’s far from a make or break for the great value of this device, but I definitely second your feature request.

ParticipantHi, shoving this up again, will open a new post soon. Any updates on that topic available? I would like to see visual confirmation, too. I see audio flowing in Behringer app on the routed subgroups/mix channels, but only part of it is actually recorded. So visual confirmation on the card´s input(s) would be greatly appreciated (having nothing to do with available / possible workarounds as a control, like testing what comes to the DAW when the card is working in interface mode instead of really recording to usb drive). Thanks
