    Hi,

I’m new here and I would like to buy a LP16, just one question:

Is it possible to playback the metronome track through the headphone output only? So the drummer could hear the click from there without any additional routing.

    Thank you a lot.

    Edit: just one question 🙂

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delayed response.
There’s a solution for this use case. You need to create a song which include all of the tracks including the metronome as well. In the uTool you need to set up the proper mixer, so you need to mute all the tracks except the metronome, then export the song. With this setup you can hear only the metronome in the headphone but the device main outputs 1-16 will plays out all of the tracks.

    I hope this helps

Sorry. I don’t understand the reply.
I also need to route a metronome track which I have as a wav to the headphone output and the rest of the tracks to another stereo pair. I will have an interface unit with four outputs. Is this possible with uTool and with the LP16?

    Thanks

Ozone67 the easiest way is to use 3 outputs. Let’s say 1-2 for the music and output 15 for the click track. In your headphone you will hear music + click (all the outputs) while you will connect only outputs 1-2 to the mixer so people will only hear music (unless you connect output 15 too…)

    Hi Sheldon.

Thanks. But… If you have music on tracks 3-16, and want those to come out one pair, and the click on track 1 to come out of the headphone jack on it’s own with no music?

If there is an headphone mixer inside uTool,, you could mute outputs 3 to 16 and leave the click track unmuted.

Maybe this is what Laszlo said but I don’t have a LP-16 so I don’t know. :side:

Also, if you send these tracks to a mixer, you could send back to the drummer the click track only. This should be the usual way to do it.

Ah. You don’t have an LP16. Thought you had by now. No worries.

I will look at mine tonight and see what can be accomplished. I still don’t get his response.
My issue is that I only have tonight before my single rehearsal with the band tomorrow morning, so there’s no room for error.
And no, I wouldn’t use a mixer at all. One piece of kit too many. The best bit about this product is (should be) that it takes the amount of fragile technology (laptop and io device) down to one box which should output a discrete headphone mix for the drummer via headphones and a mix of the other tracks via the stereo op.
Worst case would be routing the drummer click out a discrete output and use a headphone amp (which is how we used to and could still do it), as long as the rest of the tracks can all route via the stereo mix bus.

What I wanted to do was transfer the pre-prepared tracks into uTool today and pop them onto a USB device for this evening to test. Then do one run through tomorrow off the laptop and uTool, adjusting the mix via the Mixer page, and transferring that as the master multitrack session for a final run through straight after.

But I have a more fundamental problem (which I have posted) which is that stereo wavs are playing back the left channel on both outputs in the uTool App/Mixer. Which means it’s a show-stopper unless they can help me before the end of the day.

    Hi Ozone67,

Sorry for the problems you have been facing.

There is only one mix down in the LP-16 which comes on the headphones out on the front of the device. The stereo jack at the back is a “line in” and not an output. So the mixer you see on the uTool application is for the headphones.

The bug regarding the uTool2 is already noted and a fix will be available as soon as possible. In the meantime you could try to use the first version of uTool. Unfortunately stereo files are not support in the first version and you would have to split them into mono files before you can create the multi-track songs.
