ParticipantHello, I’m a pro drummer playing with various bands in italy.
I knew nothing about cymatic audio and utrack24 and used to launch sequences using a Roland spdsx.
Recently I started working with a new sound engineer who talked me wonders and the utrack24. I read the utrack24 manual and in 3 days I sold my spdsx and bought your device.
I’ve made a few gigs with it and I have a few suggestions on some issues that really are workflow breaking. Fixing these issues would make your device much better.THE LOOP FUNCTION
Guys you need to to fix this. If you write “loop function” in your manual every single pro user will think that you can loop a track or a piece of it between 2 loop points previously set. You set the markers in advance, you PLAY the song: you hit the loop key you enter the loop, you hit the loop key you exit the loop. That’s how loop works on any piece of software featuring a loop function.
I mean, either you remove “loop function” from utrack features or you fix it with a firmware update. I tell you this because I bought the unit mainly for 2 reasons: balanced outs (spdsx has only unbalanced noisy outs) and better handling of loops in the projects that have them (spdsx doesn’t even have a timeline!). One of the two expected features was an unpleasant surprise.
I was completely misled by your manual on the loop function expected behaviour.
Also, when you loop between 2 markers now, a few music samples near the 2nd loop marker are lost. It’s as if utrack24 muted the outs for a few milliseconds before starting the loop again.
Last but not least we need to use the loop function inside playlist.
You should add “loop” mode to the already existing song playing modes
Please, please, please, fix the whole loop thing.MARKERS SETTING:
Please give us the possibility to manually enter the coordinate for markers in utool. You can’t expect users hitting the exact millisecond moving a mouse on the table. A top feature would be seeing the wave form and be able to set the marker zoomin in the wave. But I can load the multiwave file in reaper and take note of the millisecond I want the marker on. Give us a way of manually entering that 5 digit exact number in utool.MIXER CHANNEL NAMEs:
You gave us the possibility of mixing the 24 channel with uremote on the fly. Great! Please let us see what we are mixing, let us see the name of the tracks on the mixer channel strips in uremote like you already did in utool.IP CALL:
In order to establish a connection, uremote scan the net looking for a utrack unit.
Please give us the possibility of entering the exact utrack ip address in uremote so we don’t have to w8 for a scan/rescan.FORWARD BACKWARD BUTTONS
I like the way they work now but there should be a way to skip to the next song instantly even if the one being played is not over yet (since the next song is always preloaded in a playlist it shouldn’t be a hardware problem adding this feature).
The idea is that the user should be able to do whatever he likes with the 2 preloaded song (the one being played and the next). Conclusions: I like the unit and even if the loop function is broken at the moment for live use the unit is reliable. Utrack24 is the only pro solution at the moment for playing sequences in its price range but
for many users the loop broken function might be a deal breaker.
Your device could be the-must-have-sequence-player and not only the most affordable one.best regards

KeymasterHey Francesco,
Many thanks for your detailed feedback.
I would like to react on your thoughts.
Yes this is true the device has no gapless loop function.
But there’s no missing samples “just” a pause in between.
The current loop mode can be used for soundcheck or rehearsal. But to set up the loop not that difficult. You can type the exact time with milliseconds to jump to the position, then you can place the marker exactly there.
https://imgur.com/a/Nzo8DsGI’ll add your input as feature request about the channel names in uRemote, and the discovery method as well skip songs during playback.
Thank you for your input.

ParticipantI just bought the uTrack24 – not having the tracknames (filenames) in the uRemote makes it really hard to make the final edits, during soundcheck.
>>…. where in these 24 tracks did i put the cowbell….<<
The uTool2 has tracknames –

Please, please, please, fix the whole loop thing. Please don’t overlook this. We aren’t looking for more options to create live loops on the fly. We need the ability to simply loop a track until we tell it to progress.
This is especially important for transitions between songs that only have an 8-16 bar loop. We need the flexibility to let that loop as long as we need it to. We are not looking to set up loop points in the middle of a live show. Stuff happens live and singers need breathers throughout the set. Autoplay Loop needs to a mode you can set for a song and to not progress to the next track until the footswitch is pressed.
We aren’t just looking to loop things during practice. We NEED those transition loops so that we have full control and seamless transitions in a live set.
