ParticipantHello,
I boought a UTrack-X32 Card for our X32 Mixing Desk. It is the big One with all the faders.
Installing was not that big of a Deal and I have recorded some Stuff in Pro Tools.
The Main Reason we bought the Card is to record Live Performances. We also have a X32 Rack in which I want to put the Card so we can Record a Show and do a Virtual Soundcheck. Can anybody explain to me how the Virtual Soundcheck should be done properly?
If I understand it right I record a Song with every Instrument plaing with the UTrack Card and then switch the Routing from the Local Inputs to the Card Inputs so the X32 Console is playing back all the Tracks from the UTrack Card.
Hopefully someone can give me a kind of precise description of how it should be done? The Virtual Soundcheck will be needed when there is no extra Soundguy.
Best Regards

KeymasterHi,
The uTrack-X32 records dry signal from your mixing console, to use the tracks for virtual soundcheck you’ll need to change the routing, then start the playback. You’ll have a similar signal on the inputs like the real instruments, so you can apply processing on each channels then you can create your downmix.
The uTrack-X32 can record from, and playback to, various channels in your mixing console:
-To select the audio channels that you plan to record, go to the console’s menu “Routing” / “Card Out”. For example, to record the X32/M32 console’s analog inputs, select “Expansion card outputs 1-8” to “local 1-8”, and so on.
-To configure the playback channels, go to the console’s menu “Routing” / “Home”. For example, to playback from USB harddisk to the mixing console’s local analog inputs, select “input 1-8” to “card 1-8”, and so on.

ParticipantThanks for the Answer.
I am not sure if I understood it right what you wrote (I am from Germany).
I did a quick test and just recorded a Guitar DI Signal and played it back through the UTrack32.
For that I had to change the Routing. I recorded the Local Input 8, so I changed the Local Inputs to Card 1-8 for playback which worked.
Just did a quick test and changed the Gain on that DI Track but when I switched the Inputs back to Local 1-8 the Gain Setting changed to what they were before.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Haven’t tested it with the Volumefaders, EQ and Dynamics cause before I dig into that I want to be able to setup the Gain first.Best Regards

KeymasterChanging the routing on your mixing console shouldn’t have any affect on the gain or any other channel processing setup.

ParticipantI will give it a try the other Day and see if I can get it to work. The Virtual Soundcheck would be a huge help if the Band is gigging without somebody running the Show.
It can happen that only the Band is going to a Gig and nobody in the Audience could do the Mixing and Soundcheck.Best Regards
