ParticipantDespite a negative user review I decided to buy the LP-16.
My first experience is not being able to install the driver.
The error message is ERROR: Pre-installation of ‘C:Program Filescymatic audioLP-16lp16_usb_avs.inf’ failed.
System is Windows 10 with all recent updates.
How to proceed?[map type=HYBRID zoom=2][/map]12th June 2017 at 15:39 #28488Laszlo
KeymasterSorry to hear this issue.
Please do the following:
Disconnect the LP-16 from the computer
Disconnect any other USB device from the computer (you can leave the mouse and keyboard connected)
Reboot your PC
Start the driver installer –> Please do not connect the LP-16 to the PC
Make sure there’s no USB drive connected to the LP-16 front panel
Connect the LP-16 to the computer where the driver installer ask you. –> make sure the LP-16 shows “USB interface mode” on the displayPlease let me know if you still have an issue

ParticipantThis doesn’t work neither. As a test I installed the driver succesfull on a Windows 7 system, although with warnings about the certification of the driver (not aproved by Microsoft or something like that). I guess this is the same for W10 but then without the possibility to overrule…..
Any suggestions?14th June 2017 at 15:30 #28510Laszlo
KeymasterHi,
It seems you have two different problem on the two computer.
On win 7 you should have to install the required hotfixes: https://cymaticaudio.com/forum/liveplayerlp-16/1040-unable-to-install-windows-7-drivers-i-m-very-disappointed#2787
On windows 10 those hotfixes must be included in the system if the OS up to date. Please tell me your windows revision number: Menu/System/About : /Windows version and edition/
You could try to run the installer in administrative privileges. /right click on the driver; “Run as Administrator”/
Please also make sure there’s no another USB device connected to the PC during the driver installation.22nd June 2017 at 00:06 #28539Steven Franks
ParticipantI am recieveing the same error message as the original poster. I am using Windows 8.1 64bit, and I’ve made sure the unit is off, no USB drive plugged into the front, and no other USB devices are plugged into my computer. Please give me some direction on how to fix this. I’ve also tried running the installer as administrator with the same error message. I’ve also attached a screenshot of the error message.
